GRADUATION CEREMONY IN BUDAPEST IN THE METHODIST CENTER

This photo was taken on 27 February 2021 in Budapest, at the Leader Conference of the UMC Hungary. The conference had a very special end: at the end of the day we celebrated the two Roma people, Mrs. Istvánné Raffael, and Mr. Ferenc Csonka who finished their studies at the Wesley Bible School this year. This school belongs to the Wesleyan churches in Hungary, but most of the leader persons are from the Methodist Church. Both people with the diploma here are members of the Methodist church, and they learned with the goal to develop skills and capacities to serve in the church, in local churches, among Roma and Hungarian people. The CCTEF (Central Conference Education Fund) helped a lot for them to receive the diploma: she fulfilled 60 credits, he fulfilled 120 credits, and get the diploma called „Spiritual Developement” and the „Christian Ministry”.

It is a very encouraging experience us to see men and women in the church who are ready to learn beside their jobs, although they are sometimes from a very challenging and hard background. We hope in the future we can develop the Wesley Bible School for a good place to educate and strengthen our lay people ministry in Hungary. This celebration with the 2 new diploma was extraordinary because the last diplomas were given 7 years ago in Hungary in this school! On the picture from left: Rev. Gabor Szuhanszky coordinator and teacher in the school, Student Istvánné Raffael, Rev. Maria Gusztinne rector and teacher of the school, Student Ferenc Csonka, Sup. Dr. Laszlo Khaled teacher of the school. Photo of Imre Gusztin.
